CLUB DAYS
1st March 2020
at 91 Rock Abbey Road, Uralla, NSW 2358
Hello everyone, it’s that time again when we have another club day coming.
Following on with the New Year theme, I thought we’d continue on with the principals of Horsemanship..
There are 7 basic foundations and I thought we’d look at each one in turn starting this month with Step 1.
This is the teaching foundation for all your training. This is the release, the neutral, the pause, the breather and the relaxation.
Known in Parelli as the “Friendly Game” it has a misconception that it’s for desensitising the horses and we see lots of people waving sticks and tarps about!
But it’s not that, ( well it is if you want it to be) but it’s the foundation for teaching a horse the correct response to your aids.
You can teach the horse to relax OR get more energetic, for mounting, for roping, polo cross, dressage, jumping, opening gates, obstacles, float loading and, of course, for waving sticks and tarps about!
So come along and let's look at how this simple concept can be used and learn how to improve your timing and feel to get the horse response you want, you might be surprised to find out that you have been TEACHING the horse the wrong response!
Alfie
Please RSVP is you are interested as it does help us to run the day if we have a rough idea of the numbers. Tea and coffee will be provided
For NENHC members then there is a $5 ground fee charge per person, and for non members then there is also a $15 membership day fee for insurance.
Yearly membership is $45pp.
